Cheesecake with Ganache

Have you ever thought that a sunken cake can be a success?  I was in this situation when i had to think fast to complete this birthday cake in time. ..

It was the morning of the birthday and the cake has sunk to half of what it was when i turned off the oven the night before.
It was left it in the oven with the oven door ajar and meant to be taken out as soon as it cooled slightly.  But ...... i fell asleep and woke up hours later.  OMG  - think fast - Lily

It is so lovely, how do u pipe the chocolate ganache? I think experience really counts when u have to deal with a situation where u have to salvage a birthday cake. :)

Greetings Lily,

Thanks for sharing this gorgeous cake recipe! My daughter turned 3 yesterday. She insisted that we made this cake for her birthday and I did.

I have a question on the chocolate cream. I’ve done every step you said but the cream doesn’t look creamy texture like yours did. It tasted like over whipped cream. Did I miss any step from your recipe? Or should I just melted the chocolate, leave it cool and mix it with the cream while whipping?

Thank God I still had some left over cream so I whipped and spread over the cheese cake and topped with raspberries. All my in laws loved the cheese cake and they even had seconds!

Have a Blessed Day!

Cheers,
Simone (UK)

if you have followed the instruction which is so simple, then you should have a ganache which looked like this. Could it be the heavy whipping cream is different in UK.

Hiya Lily,
Thanks for your reply.
Just to be sure, the cream I used was 47.5% fat.. Do you think it works?
Anyway, I will try again one day, see how it goes. I will keep you inform.
Cheers, Simone

Hi Lily, I was looking for cakes to try out this Christmas and saw this gorgeous cake. How did you pipe the ganache so beautifully? I may just have to do the regular boring look though.

Thanks for all your recipes. How many do you have now?
